When Marc-André decides to do something, he goes for it. “Whatever I do, I am intense about it. I have many interests, both in business and in life, and when I take something on, I commit. At GCM, we are the same way: when we decide to take something on, we go all in.” As a tireless cheerleader, inspiring confidence in the company for over 20 years, Marc-André has truly helped build the GCM Group into the dynamic, human-centered organization that it is today.
Known for his willingness to go “off-road” at times in his search for creative solutions, connections, and opportunities, Marc-André believes that integrity is the key to long-term success. “Being forthright, authentic, acting with courage, this creates trust, and acts as a catalyst in the business relationship.”
When it comes to communication, Marc-André believes in straight talk. He can be funny and is not against using exaggeration to make subtle points clear. “It is my way of driving important points home. I know that my intentions are good, so I will go with straight talk every time. Long term, I believe this is a healthy approach.”
As VP of Corporate Strategic Development, Marc-André’s goal is to look for mutual wins. “If we decide on a partnership or an acquisition, I want the integration to be as beneficial for our partner firm as it is to the larger GCM group.” For Marc-André, these integrations are as much about the human side as they are about business fit. “It’s about building a place where it is fun to come to work, where there is room for happiness, for transparency, for being you.”
